Sports Development - Multi Skills

The children had a fantastic time in Multi Skills this half term. Over the course of 5 weeks they learnt a variety of skills including:

  • Moving in different ways along different pathways e.g. by changing direction quickly
  • Carrying and stopping a ball in different ways
  • Playing simple relay games
  • Rolling, aiming and tracking a ball to a partner
  • Underarm throwing
  • Bouncing and catching a ball

Sports Development - Football

The children thoroughly enjoyed Football this half term. Over the 5 weeks they have learnt:

  • How to keep control of the ball
  • Finding a space
  • How to move whilst keeping the ball
  • Passing the ball
  • Receiving the ball
  • Working together as a team
  • Balance
  • Shooting/aiming at a target 

Sports Development - Gymnastics

The children have absolutely loved Gymnastics this half term! They have learnt lots of skills from their coach Lynne:

 

  • Explore gymnastic actions and movements
  • To move confidently and safely
  • To copy and create a movement
  • How to carry and place equipment safely

 

In the last lesson the children had the opportunity to use all of the skills they have learnt over the 5 weeks by using the fantastic equipment we have in school. 

Mini Movers intervention

 

Mini Movers focuses on a small group of children to improve their basic physical literacy skills. Each week the children received a pack of resources and activity cards to take home to work with an adult to build upon the skills they learnt in each sessions.

Dance from the Heart

 

We have been busy learning the routine for this year's Dance from the Heart event. We can't wait to see all of the school dancing together to songs from different movies.
