Thinking about the terrible tragedy in Manchester
On Thursday 25th May, classes met on the field to think about and pray for the victims of the bombing in Manchester. At 11 o' clock, we held a minutes silence and then we prayed together. After that, each child was given a ribbon. Some of us tied the ribbon to an oak tree in memory of the victims. Others took their ribbon home as a reminder to pray privately.
It was a very moving occasion. We will continue to pray for everyone involved.
Easter Service at St Saviour's Church
On Thursday 30th March, we all walked up to St Saviour's Church to hold our Easter Service. Year 6 did all the readings and the other classes performed drama during the songs. We told the story of Easter and Andrew said it was very moving.
In worship on Monday 13th March, we began thinking about our Lenten Charity this year. We are going to collect coins in jars and sent the money we raise to NET School in India. Mrs Watkins gave the school councillors from each class a jar.
On Friday 7th October, we held our Harvest Service in the Methodist Church. Our theme was hope and all the money collected went to give hope to the people of Zimbabwe through The Bishop of Blackburn's Harvest Appeal.
