This week in Maths we are looking at subtraction. We have learnt the different words that mean subtraction such as take away and less than. The children have practised using different maths equipment to write subtraction number sentences. Some of the children have worked on the computers with Mrs Houlding.
This week the children are looking at Fractions in Maths. At the beginning of the week the children had to find halves and quarters of different shapes by folding them up.
For Pancake Day we listened to the story 'Mr Wolf's Pancakes'. We then had to help him put equal amounts of toppings on his pancakes! It was lots of fun. Then at playtime Year 2 made some delicious pancakes to raise some money for their trip - they were delicious!

Over the past few weeks the children have been learning number bonds. They have used Numicon and other counting objects to investigate how to make 5, 10, 15 and 20. Some of the children have practised using a number line to jump and count along to find out the answer to some missing number sentences.
