The worship at Cuerden Church School is built on our Christian values.
Every half term, we look closely at what the Bible can teach us about one particular Christian value and we talk about how it can help us to live according to the teachings of Jesus.
We are looking at the Big Story of the Bible. There are many books in the library of the Bible and they were all written by different people, at different times, in different languages and for different reasons. However, there is one main story that runs through it all - the story of God’s love for us.
We also learn about the major Christian festivals.
Our Thursday worship is led by the clergy from St Saviour’s Church and the Methodist Church. During Advent and Lent, it takes place in the Methodist Church to emphasise the importance of Christmas and Easter. Our main services at Harvest, Christmas and Easter are held in St Saviour's Church and the whole school works hard to make these celebrations special for the school and parents alike.
There are also times when we get together as a school to praise God through song and sometimes we worship as a class.
We often greet visitors to our worship, especially Eileen and Ian who regularly up date us on the NET School in India which we support.
Through the year, each class presents a Family Worship on a theme of their choice. Parents and friends are invited along to join in and share refreshments at the end.
At the end of the school year the children in Year 6 present their own Leavers' Service to mark their moving on from our Cuerden Church School family. Parents, friends and church members are always invited to join us at all these important times.
