Special Events

On Thursday 19th December, the whole school walked up to St Saviours Church to hold our Christmas Carol Service. Families and friends joined us to clebrate this important Christian festival. There was plenty of beautiful singing from the children. The KS2 children read from Isaiah and the Gospels of Matthew, Luke and John to tell the story of that first Christmas. Graham and Karen led our school family in the prayers.

The pictures below were taken during the rehearsal in school.

On Monday 11th November, the whole school came together for our Remembrance Day Worship. After a quiet thoughtful time in the hall with Mrs Sherry, we had a minute of silence to remember all the people who have died in wars. Then we all went outside for a time of reflection and prayer on our Prayer Walk. Each class had made a large poppy using hand shapes and with messages connected with our Christian values of compassion and hope.

On Friday 4th October, we all met in the hall to give thanks for the harvest. Lots of friends and family came to join us and Karen prayed at the start and end of our worship. There was some fabulous reading and amazing singing as we thought about how the humble potato can be used to help hungry families in Ethiopia. It is sowing seeds of hope.

There was a collection for the Bishop of Blackburn's Harvest Appeal and many children brought a tin or a packet for St Mary and St Benedict's food bank. This gave us the opportunity to show compassion for others.
