What did Leading Lights do in autumn?

Our first meeting of the new school year

The first Leading Lights meeting was held on 17th September. It was lovely to see old friends again and also to welcome some new faces. We began making a display for the entrance hall on the Christian value for this half term - compassion.

Here is our finished display on compassion.

Compassion Worship

On Wednesday 9th October, Leading Lights led worship for the whole school and thought about what compassion really is. Compassion is not just felling sorry for someone. It's doing something about the problem. They talked about how we can pray for people when we are not able to actually help them ourselves and then they danced to a song about how our God can do anything.

Pupil R.E. Conference - 27th November

On Wednesday 27th Novemeber, two members of Leading Lights represented our school at the annual Pupil R.E. Conference. It was held at Ewood Park, the home ground of Blackburn Rovers Football Club. There were children there from right across Lancashire and we made some lovely new friends. Lisa talked about ideas for Christmas R.E. and we came away with some great ideas for display that we could use next year. The two girls reported back to Leading Lights the following week.
