Autumn Term

 

Football

This half term children in Year 3 and 4 have enjoyed working with Jake from the South Ribble Sports Development Team to learn all about football. The children have learnt a range of skills including dribbling, kicking a ball to a target, passing and receiving and running with the ball. 

Yoga

This half term the children in Years 1 and 2 have worked with a coach from South Ribble Sports Development Team to learn all about yoga. 

Mini Movers

Children in Reception class have enjoyed participating in 'Mini Movers' this half term with Dave from the South Ribble Sports Development Team. They have learnt a variety of movement skills including jogging, jumping, walking in different directions and controlling a ball.

 

Football

Children in Years 5 and 6 have enjoyed learning about football as part of their PE lessons this half term. This coaching has introduced the children to a range of techniques including dribbling, passing and receiving and running with the ball.

Gymnastics

Reception and Year 1 enjoyed Gymnastics this half term with a coach from the South Ribble Sports Development Team. The children have learnt different rolls, balances and travels and have created simple sequences. 

Spring Term

 

Tag Rugby

Children in Years 3 and 4 enjoyed learning about Tag Rugby in the Spring Term. They now understand the rules and skills needed to play this invasion games and participated in short-sided games.

Hockey

During the Spring Term, Years 4 and 5 have enjoyed Hockey sessions led by Anthony from the South Ribble Sports Development Team. The children have learnt how to dribble and pass a ball, travel whilst having control of the ball and keeping possession of a ball when playing a game. 

Multi-Skills

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have enjoyed Multi-Skills sessions this half term. The children have learnt basic movements including running, jumping, throwing and catching as well as developing their balance, agility and co-ordination skills. 

Summer Term

 

Dance

This half term children in Years 2 and 3 have enjoyed participating in Dance sessions with Danni, a coach from the South Ribble Sports Development Team. They have worked hard to learn a group dance that included putting various actions together to create a sequence. The children have also worked with a partner and in small groups to put together their own sequence of actions.

Basketball

Children in Years 4 and 6 have enjoyed participating in Basketball coaching sessions this half term. 

Wildwood Days

Throughout the Summer Term, children in Years 1 and 2 will be participating in weekly 'Forest Schools' sessions led by Wildwood Days. They will be joining in with a variety of outdoor and adventurous activities including minibeast hunts, making natural art and using simple tools to create tree cookies and leaf prints. 

Tag Rugby

Children in Years 5 and 6 have enjoyed learning the skills and tactics of Tag Rugby this half term. They have worked alongside Jack and Anthony who are coaches from the South Ribble Sports Development Team.
