Out of School Achievements
At Cuerden we love to celebrate the children's achievements out of school too! Children are welcome to bring certificates or medals into school which will be presented during our Achievements Assembly on Friday.
Awards must be recent and belong to your child. Some ideas include: a swimming certificate, a football medal or trophy or something from an outdoor & adventurous club (e.g. Beavers or Rainbows).
Please pass these onto your child's class teacher who will ensure that they are shared with the whole school.
Theo in Year 1 plays football for Bamber Bridge. He scored a goal in his match at the weekend. Well done, Theo!
Isabelle in Year 4 goes to cheerleading each week. She performs stunts and won a medal at her latest competition. Well done, Isabelle!
Emelia from Year 5 also shared a photograph of a trophy she has received from cheerleading. She performs stunts and stands at the top of the pyramid! You are very brave, Emelia!
Lilly from Year 2 won a trophy for scoring lots of goals at netball. Great work, Lilly!
Alfie from Year 2 received a certificate for his swimming and he can now move up to the next stage. Super news, Alfie!
Joshua from Year 3 showed the trophy his team won at football after they came first in their competition. Wonderful teamwork, Joshua!
Mason shared his jumper from Beavers. He has received several badges for his Outdoor and Adventure activities. Great work, Mason!
Premier League Primary Stars Football Kit
(written by the Sports Council)
Pupils and staff are celebrating after being awarded a Premier League Primary Stars football kit.
In the Summer Term Miss Chapman contacted the Premier League Primary Stars programme to apply for a chance to win our school a new football kit. She completed a questionnaire to explain why Cuerden Church School deserved the chance to win.
Earlier this term we found out that Cuerden had been successful in the competition and had been selected to receive a new football kit. The new kit is sponsored by Nike with the Premier League logo on the sleeve. The colours have been specifically chosen to match our school colours of yellow and blue.
The Sports Council presented the football team with their brand new kit. They are very excited to wear the kit at the next tournament just like their football heroes. Dominic and Morgan said, "The kits are very comfortable and will make us look professional on the pitch."
Ready for the 'Dance from the Heart' roadshow in June we decided to run an exciting t-shirt competition! We asked each child to design a t-shirt following the theme of one of the musicals included in this year's dance routine. We received lots of entries and it was very difficult to pick the winners as the designs were fabulous! A winner was chosen from each class and these children used their design to make a t-shirt to wear during the roadshow. A big well done to all of our winners!
