Church School

On a journey with Jesus;

growing, learning and loving God together

Welcome

Welcome to Cuerden Church School

On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors I would like to warmly welcome you to Cuerden Church School. I am extremely proud, as head teacher, to take this opportunity to introduce you to our lovely school and our fantastic pupils.  Our website will give you a glimpse into the life of our school and hopefully answer some of the questions that you might have.

At Cuerden Church School, we believe that we are all on a journey where, together, we grow, learn and love God – children, families, governors and staff. We work hard to encourage the children to live out our core Christian values of love, hope, compassion, trust, respect, courage and forgiveness in everything we do – our learning, physical activity, our relationships with one another and within our community. At the heart of all we do, we are secure in the knowledge that 'Everything is possible with God' (Matthew 19:26). The fruits of this can be seen in the excellent behaviour of the children, their positive attitudes to learning and thoughtful responses to one another. We have a team of very talented and caring staff who are united in their efforts to encourage everyone to be the best that they can be and to allow them to flourish in all aspects of life. As a school, we offer opportunities to perform regularly, as well as a wide range of extra-curricular activities including a variety of sports, choir, gardening, sign language and science clubs. We also have a number of opportunities for the children to take on leadership roles within school and to develop their awareness of being a local or global citizen. As a Voluntary Aided Primary school, we foster excellent relationships with all our families and the local community. We have an open door policy, allowing excellent communication and partnership between home and school. Close links between both St. Saviour’s C.E. Church and Bamber Bridge Methodist Church help our vibrant Christian ethos to blossom.

We believe that a good education helps children to thrive as people, equips them well for later life and contributes to a positive sense of well-being for each child. At Cuerden, each child is valued as an individual and we strive to meet all their differing needs to the very best of our ability. I believe the high quality teaching, varied learning experiences  and nurturing environment combined with Christian values are a real strength of our school. We have high expectation and aspiration for all of the children in our care which results in good outcomes for children at the end of each Key Stage.

Choosing the right school is a very important decision and can often be helped by viewing the school and meeting the staff. If you would like to see our happy, positive and caring Christian school in action, I would warmly invite you to contact the school office to arrange a visit, request a paper copy of any of our policies or if you would like any further information.

I very much look forward to meeting both you and your child soon.
