  I am sure that many of you watched last night's announcement by Boris Johnson. As a school, we now await further detailed guidance from the government on how a partial return to school for certain year groups might take place. I will contact families in due course once very careful plans have been put into place. 

   

  We will continue to care for a small number of children of key workers and vulnerable families following the guidance that we have. At this time, the message remains unchanged that it is safer for your children to be educated at home. We will keep you informed over the coming weeks of any decisions that we are able to make. Thank you for your patience and understanding - we are working exceptionally hard to ensure the safety of all pupils and adults through these very uncertain times.

• FREE SCHOOL MEAL PROVISION DURING CLOSURE

  FAMILIES ENTITLED TO A FREE SCHOOL MEAL ( please note this is NOT the Infant free school meal provision):

  At the start of next week, there will be a bag of groceries available for you to collect from the office that will enable you to provide a basic breakfast and lunch for your child for that week. If your child is in school because you are a key worker family, they will be given a lunch as normal so the bag of groceries will not be available to your household. Once we have received the delivery of groceries on a Monday, we will text you when they are available to collect from the school office. Please wait for this text message before coming to school.

  School will be closed until further notice from Friday 20th March. Any further information regarding re-opening will be posted on the website and we will communicate with you via the text messaging service.

  Well done to all of our Reception and Key Stage 1 children who have performed in our nativity play this week. Every single one of you were amazing and it was a joy to see you all grow in confidence through the week. Thank you to all the staff for their hard work in creating such a memorable production and to the many families who came to watch, . 

• Friends Association Cuerden Cafe and Chocolate Bingo

  A fantastic time was had by all tonight at the Chocolate Bingo. Well done to all of our winners. Thank you so much to all of the many families who supported this event - it was extremely well attended. An incredible £310 was raised towards improvements in the school library.
