School Games Mark Award
School Games Mark Award 2025-2026
We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have achieved the 'Platinum' School Games Mark Award this year!
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme that was launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success!
We have participated in numerous local inter-school competitions and festivals this year and we are extremely proud of all of our children for their participation and dedication to school sport.
As part our application, we were asked to write a case study about how we embed positive experiences of competition into our PE curriculum. We also had to fulfil a set of criteria including participation, competition, workforce and clubs. We are so pleased that 94 out of 196 children have enjoyed attending our extra-curricular clubs this year.
We are thrilled that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded again this year. Anthony Graham, our SGO from the South Ribble Active Health Team, supports our school each year and said, "Huge congratulations. The work you've done to engage your children in intra- and inter-school competitions is amazing to see with the balance of a fantastic extra-curricular programme. The opportunities are endless and give the children amazing experiences."
