Playtime Leaders (Change 4 Life club)
In September our new Playtime Leaders were appointed. A big well done to Logan, Daniel, Beth, Libby and Chad who are this year's leaders!
On Tuesday 9th October these children visited Brownedge St Mary's High School to participate in a training event. The children behaved beautifully and worked well with children from other local schools to learn a variety of games that they can teach to the rest of our school. Our Playtime Leaders will wear distinctive yellow bibs and will work alongside the welfare staff to organise activities at lunchtimes to encourage other children to be active and build up their fitness levels.
This week ten pupils from Years 1 and 2 attended a KS1 event at Worden Academy in Leyland. The children participated in a carousel of six different activities designed to get them physically active. Every child received a certificate for their participation. The children showed great listening skills, tried their best at each activity station and showed great teamwork skills. They are now very excited to continue playing games and being active back at school.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 have participated in this fun after school club this half term. The children have mastered basic movements including running, jumping, throwing and catching as well as developing their balance, agility and co-ordination skills.
