At Cuerden Church School, we aim to provide a geography education which allows all our pupils to flourish in an environment where they feel valued and have the courage to share their learning with others. Our curriculum has been designed to support our pupils on their journey through school by supporting them at every step to become confident geographers. Our pupils are taught how to respond and work with their peers and as a result, can discuss the work of others in a respectful manner.
At Cuerden Church School, the aim of our geography curriculum is to teach all children to show love, compassion and respect to others and God’s creation. Additionally, recognising they must be advocates of hope and courage for the future survival of our planet. We want geography to inspire passion within our children through the development of carefully sequenced knowledge and growing geographical vocabulary. We want geography to give our children the confidence to discuss, debate and share their views with others. It is our aim that we create respectful, responsible and caring global citizens with a sound knowledge basis that prepares them well for the next stage of learning.
