Online Safety

At Cuerden Church School, we believe that all of our children should have the best possible life chances.  Therefore, our online safety curriculum allows our children to develop the values of compassion, courage and confidence throughout their school journey.   Children develop respect for themselves, for others and for the environment. Pupils need to understand and respect the positive and negative impact technology has on our society, for them to make clear, confident choices about how they use it in their everyday lives. Through the curriculum, children are taught how to be kind, compassionate and responsible citizens in the face of challenges online and are able to take their place in society through and beyond their school journey here at Cuerden.

Our online safety curriculum delivers a curriculum which equips our children with the skills and knowledge to use technology appropriately and responsibly. Our  vision is for the children to be able to recognise the risks associated with technology and how to deal with them both within and outside the school environment.

The following staff and Governor are the designated personnel for Online Safety.  They receive regular training and support for their roles.

Designated Safeguarding Lead for Online Safety: Mrs Sherry and Mrs van Zyl
