Handball whole school festival 

On Friday 4th October, the whole school participated in a Handball festival with Andy from the South Ribble Active Health Team. The children participated in lots of games and mini-competitions whilst learning the skills of this sport. 

Paralympic athlete visit

In October, we received a very special visit from Azeem Amir who is a paralympic footballer for Team GB. Azeem led an assembly to introduce himself and explained to the children how important it is to always try their best and that anything is possible with God. The whole school was really inspired by Azeem's story. He then delivered a workshop with each class so that they could learn more about the sport of paralympic football. The children had to use their listening and teamwork skills. They also used large balls with bells inside, blindfolds and ear defenders so that they could experience the sport in different ways.

South Ribble Sports Awards

In October, we were delighted to receive a nomination and then be short listed for 'School of the Year' at the South Ribble Sports Awards 2024. A big thank you to all of the children, staff and families who support PE and Sport at Cuerden.
