Special Events

HARVEST

On the 30th September, we all met together in the hall to celebrate harvest. There were readings and art work and each class spelled out a different word. We thought about being grateful for all the food that God blesses us with and we remembered that other people do not have enough to eat. Year 6 finally reminded us of all the ways we can show compassion for others. Matt finished of our service and said a prayer. Karen joined us too.

All the classes had been collecting donations for our local food bank over the previous days. You can see a small selection on the worship table. The next day, Mrs Sherry delivered them.

ON A JOURNEY WITH JESUS

On the 19th of October, the whole school came together to look back over our worship theme of 'On a journey with Jesus'. Miss Croft gave us some questions to think about and after a short discussion, she invited us up to write our ideas on a huge road at the front of the hall.

There were some fabulous comments from the children.

Why do you need Jesus on your journey?

Zachary in Y3 said, 'I use Jesus to keep me on the right path because Jesus shows us how to make good choices.'

Who do you think Jesus is?

Leo in Y2 said, 'Jesus is the Light. He shows us the way.'

CAROL SERVICE AT ST SAVIOURS CHURCH

On Thursday 16th December, we all went to St Saviours Church to hold our Carol Service. It was very exciting because we have not been able to do it for such a long time. Matt was there to greet us and he opened and closed the service. All the KS2 classes did a reading from the story of Jesus' birth. The readings were from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. There were some lovely songs and the choir performed for us. YR created a wonderful tableau while they sang.
