A Bear Called Paddington

Our first text of Year 3 is called 'A Bear Called Paddington'. We began by making predictions and exploring vocabulary by using dictionaries. 

 

The children have loved listening to and reading the story. They have acted in role and thought carefully about Paddington's feelings. The children have used conjunctions and noun phrases in their writing. They have written diaries in the role of Paddington and written letters to Aunt Lucy in Darkest Peru! 

 

Last week we started chunking the plot and planning our innovations of the story. We have learnt that Paddington is a very clumsy bear and for our new stories he will be in a different setting for his next adventure! The children have come up with some fantastic ideas for their new stories. Super work, Year 3!
