Special Interest Weeks

Journey Day - Autumn Term

This week we have been thinking about journeys. We have watched video clips and read 'Journey' by Aaron Becker.

The children have shared their ideas during circle times about journeys. We have thought carefully about how Jesus shows Christian values and about our own school Christian values and how we always try our best to show these.

We have talked about how we grow whilst we are at Cuerden and how sometimes things make be difficult or challenging but that it is important to know God is with us on our journey. The children have created some lovely pieces of artwork for our corridor display.

'Change Starts with Us' (Anti-Bullying Week) - Autumn

We have participated in lots of different activities this week all about anti-bullying, cyber-bullying, kindness and how we are all unique and different.

We played 'Secret Angels' where every child picked a name out of a hat and had to become that person's secret angel. They have to spend the rest of the week being extra nice to them and we revealed our Secret Angels on Friday to see if anybody had completed their mission.

On Tuesday everybody wore odd socks to celebrate Anti-Bullying Week. We discussed how everybody is different and unique. Some children created a 'kindness cloud' and some children made 'box of crayons'.

We have also explored cyber-bullying and the children created posters to raise awareness about this.  The children also created some artwork to show how we prevent bullying from happening at our school, for example by sharing, playing with each other and helping each other.
