Animals including Humans 

We began our topic by discussing what we already know about animals and humans from our learning in Key Stage One. The children created KWL Grids to show their knowledge. 

 

Throughout the unit we have identified and labelled human skeleton bones and learnt about its functions. Everyone particularly enjoyed learning about joints and muscles and we carried out an investigation to find out which we use for different activities such as reading a book and running. 

 

We have also looked at different types of animal skeletons and have explored endoskeletons, exoskeletons and hydrostatic skeletons. The children enjoyed researching which type of skeleton their favourite animal has.
